Kirk Cousins reported for the Falcons voluntary workouts on Tuesday according to Zach Klein of WSB in Atlanta.
It’s a bit of a surprise given his onerous trade/contract situation, but Cousins has always been portrayed as a team-first player and this is clearly an action that one of those would take. NFL Network’s Mike Garafolo added that “even some in the building” were surprised.
Cousins’ availability in a trade is one of the top veteran storylines to watch as we approach the NFL Draft, and the team did just sign Easton Stick yesterday. If Cousins remains with the Falcons, he’d just be Michael Penix’s backup.
