Saints GM Mickey Loomis said he is hoping for clarity on Derek Carr’s shoulder injury soon according to Nick Underhill of NewOrleans.Football.
Loomis quickly shut down any further talk of Carr’s injury situation.
Carr suffered a shoulder injury last year that was only revealed to the public a few weeks ago. Surgery is an option and it’s unclear to us and the Saints if he will be able to play in 2025. Other reports have indicated that Carr is using the injury to force his way out of New Orleans.
The news has the Saints in a position to take a quarterback early in the draft, but it’s looking increasingly unlikely that it will happen with the No. 9 overall pick. The Saints will remain players in the quarterback market early in the second round, even if they don’t pull the trigger on the first night of the draft.
