On Thursday night, the Panthers selected University of Arizona receiver Tetairoa McMillan with the eighth overall pick of the 2025 NFL draft, Anthony Rizzuti of Panthers Wire reports. The 6-foot-4, 219-pound pass catcher is the second wideout taken by the Panthers in the first round in as many years, joining 2024 32nd overall pick Xavier Legette.
A Waimānalo, Hawaii native, McMillan played three seasons for the Wildcats—amassing 213 receptions for 3,423 yards and 26 touchdowns. He packed up his productive collegiate tenure as a 2024 consensus All-American and first-team All-Big 12 selection.
McMillan is now the fifth eighth overall selection in franchise history—moving in alongside the likes of running backs Tim Biakabutuka (1996) and Christian McCaffrey (2017), offensive lineman Jordan Gross (2003) and cornerback Jaycee Horn (2021).
