The Cardinals stayed put with the 16th pick overall in the first round of Thursday's NFL draft, selecting Ole Miss defensive lineman Walter Nolen, Darren Urban of the team's official website reports.
It's another addition for a team that has worked all offseason to rebuild the defensive front, joining free agent signees Calais Campbell and Dalvin Tomlinson. The Cardinals also have Justin Jones and Bilal Nichols coming back from injury and young players Dante Stills and Darius Robinson -- the latter being a first-round pick a season ago.
Nolen, 6-foot-4 amd 296 pounds, had 14 tackles for loss and 6.5 sacks this past season for the Rebels and was named first-team All-American. He said during the Scouting combine he had a "violent" game and hoped to be a comp with future Hall of Famer Aaron Donald.
