On Thursday night, the Detroit Lions took defensive tackle Tyleik Williams out of Ohio State University with the No. 28 pick in the 2025 NFL Draft, Tyler Kuehl of Mlive reports.
Williams joins a defensive line that is filled with talent. Along with former No. 2 overall pick Aidan Hutchinson and Marcus Davenport, the Lions add a standout run-stopper. For a lineman his size, the Virginia native has very quick feet and is very forceful on the rush.
Williams was on the Buckeyes team that won the NCAA National Championship this past January. In his first two seasons in Columbus, he was named All-Big Ten Conference Honorable Mention before being named Third-Team All-Big Ten in his junior and senior seasons.
