In Ben Johnson's introductory press conference, the new Chicago Bears coach goaded rival Green Bay and Matt LaFleur.
"And to be quite frank with ya, I kind of enjoyed beating Matt LaFleur twice a year," Johnson said in January of his success with the Lions against the Packers.
For his part, LaFleur has deflected each chance to fight back, but that hasn't slowed the questions about the rivalry, which has been lopsided, with Green Bay winning 11 of the past 13 games, Kevin Patra of NFL.com reports.
Asked in a recent episode of the Bussin' With the Boys podcast, LaFleur cheekily dismissed questions about Johnson.
"I don't know Ben Johnson," LaFleur said. "Do I have beef? I don't know Ben Johnson. I respect him as a football coach, he did a nice job (with the Lions). ... I thought it was interesting. The press conference was interesting, but I don't have beef with him. ... I don't get all into that stuff."
