Free-agent defensive back Jamal Adams is interested in returning to the New York Jets after spending five seasons elsewhere, Andrew Dixon of theScore reports.

"I would love to be back with the Jets and, obviously, finish it the right way," Adams said Wednesday while speaking with fans on X, according to ESPN's Rich Cimini.

"Man, that would be a dream come true, just to patch up that relationship and kind of make it right."

New York drafted Adams sixth overall in 2017 out of LSU. The 29-year-old earned first-team All-Pro honors in 2019 and made the second-team All-Pro squad in 2018 while with the club.

The Jets traded Adams to the Seattle Seahawks ahead of the 2020 campaign after his relationship with the organization deteriorated. He scored a second-team All-Pro nod and his third consecutive Pro Bowl nomination in his first season with the Seahawks, but hasn't earned any accolades since.

"(I would) just come in as a seasoned vet, give game to the young cats and help in any way, shape or form I can," Adams said. "I know I can still play football. I'm healthy, and I know I can impact the game in a lot of ways. I just need that fair opportunity to come in and show what I can do."
