Former New York Jets GM Joe Douglas has been hired by the Eagles in a senior scouting role according to Jeff McLane of the Philadelphia Inquirer.

Douglas was with the Eagles as vice president of player personnel from 2016 to 2019 , helping build the franchise’s first Super Bowl champion in 2017. He was hired by the Jets as general manager in June 2019. During his five-plus seasons in New York, the Jets never reached the playoffs. He was fired following the team’s 3-8 start last season.

In 2022, Douglas did draft three key players in cornerback Sauce Gardner, receiver Garrett Wilson, and running back Breece Hall. Douglas was a member of the Ravens scouting department from 2000 to 2014, winning a pair of Super Bowls. He also spent one season as the Bears director of college scouting in 2015.
