The Bears originally were going to trade the top pick in the Draft with Houston to go to 2, Jay Glazer of FOX Sports reports. 

Chicago had a deal pretty much worked out with Carolina to go from 2 to 9. It looked like it was going to happen then a Houston source said they just couldn’t get that part of the deal done so Bears made the eventual move with Panthers, who now have their guy. Bryce Young likely would have been the guy for Texans. Instead he’ll go to Carolina.
