The NFL draft is a week away, and this is the next step in the Washington Commanders first season under new GM Adam Peters. He answered questions from reporters today, alongside his new assistant GM Lance Newmark. Peters has made big changes to the roster, signing 22 new players and trading away last year’s starting QB, Sam Howell.

The Washington Commanders have 6 picks in the top 100 of this year’s draft, including the #2 overall pick. They are expected to take a QB in the first round, most likely at #2 after the Chicago Bears select QB Caleb Williams. Peters reportedly had around 20 players in for Top 30 visits, including four of the top QB prospects. Most people expect Washington’s decision to come down to UNC’s Drake Maye and LSU’s Jayden Daniels, Scott Jennings of Hog Haven reports.

Peters said, “We’re real close” to making a QB decision but that he’s a process guy and will run all the way through to next week."

"We're going to make the best decisions for the football team with their picks. That includes moving up and moving back in the draft. He feels like they have the ability to do both with the number of picks they have."
