Fake Story: Tom Brady wants to get paid like Garoppolo, or he’ll skip OTAs

The NFL's Most Valuable Player, Ton Brady is ready to sit out all of this year’s offseason organized team activities unless he receives a contract extension that carries with it up-front money similar to what his former protege, Jimmy Garoppolo, will receive from the San Francisco 49ers, Ron Borges of the Boston Herald reports. This according to a sources close to Brady. Garoppolo yesterday signed a five-year, $137.4 million deal with $74 million guaranteed.

Brady stands ready to make clear to his bosses that he is not about to see his former backup, who won as many games this season as Brady has won Super Bowl rings, receive more up front money than he will earn going forward.

This is especially significant because Brady has made clear his intention to play until 45, barring injury, and has shown only minimal signs of slippage. That’s four more years.
