Despite all the offseason hype, San Francisco 49ers running back Jerick McKinnon will not be a "bell-cow running back" according to Dan Graziano of ESPN.

McKinnon has earned nothing but praise since signing a four-year, $30 million contract in March, but Graziano cautions his workload might not be as large as some expect. "Matt Breida should have a role in this offense too," Graziano writes, "and don't be surprised if there are weeks when Breida is the early-down guy and outscores McKinnon even in PPR leagues." We would still expect McKinnon to be the clear lead back, but it is worth noting he has never had more than 202 touches in a season and struggled as a runner the last two years.  Originally a third-round back out of Georgia Southern, McKinnon was versatile in his four years with the Minnesota Vikings but his only season with 1,000+ yards from scrimmage was 2017 and fantasy owner should be cautious about over-valuing him.
