Los Angeles Chargers swcond-year wide receiver Mike Williams says he has "a big role in the red zone right now" according to Dan Graziano of ESPN.

With future Hall-Antonio Gates still unsigned (and 38 years old) and tight end Hunter Henry out for the year with a torn ACL, the Chargers need to replace 32 percent of their red-zone targets, and Williams always seemed like the best option.  "Henry was a big red zone threat, and that's a spot where I can help," Williams said. "So we're working on a lot of that stuff right now."   Taken No.7-overall in the 2017 draft out of Clemson, Williams is still in many ways a rookie as last season was pretty much a lost one due to injuries.  But the 6'4, 218-pound wideout presents a huge target for veteran QB Philip Rivers and seems poised for a breakout 2018.
