The long wait ended Thursday night when Andrew Luck returned to the playing field for the Indianapolis Colts. The seventh-year quarterback opened their preseason game against the Seattle Seahawks, his first action since the end of the 2016 season, on Jan. 1, 2017.

Luck completed 6-of-9 passes for 64 yards, and he was sacked once for 7 yards. He also rushed once when flushed out of the pocket for 1 yard.

Luck felt good about his performance, Scott Horner of the Indianapolis Star reports.

"It was fun and it felt sharp," Luck said on the WXIN-59 game broadcast late in the third quarter, long after he had left the game.

"I was excited. I was nervous. I had some butterflies in my stomach," said Luck. "It's just a preseason game, but it's still a game."
