The "initial sense" is that Indianapolis Colts running back Marlon Mack will miss a few weeks of action due to a "manageable" hamstring strain suffered the the team's preseason opener Thursday night according to Jason La Canfora of CBS Sports.

The injury happened on the Colts' very first play from scrimmage when QB Andrew Luck flipped the ball to Mack.  The Colts are still waiting for "final confirmation" but, if it is just a strain, Mack should have a chance to be ready for the start of the regular season.  A fourth-round pick out of South Florida in 2017, Mack showed some promise in his rookie season but struggled with injuries and inconsistency as the change-of-pace back to veteran Frank Gore.  Now Gore is gone and Mack is expected to lead a Colts backfield committee along with rookies Nyheim Hines and Jordan Wilkins.  Goal-line back Robert Turbin will also figure into the mix once he completes a four-game suspension for PEDs.
