It "makes sense" for the Cincinnati Bengals to move on from controversial linebacker Vontaze Burfict this offseason according to Katherine Terrell of ESPN.com.

The familiar faces on the Bengals coaching staff that have supported Burfict for years-Marvin Lewis, Paul Guenther, and Jim Haslett-are all gone now and it makes alot of sense for a new coaching staff headed by Zac Taylor to cut the cord.  Burfict hasn't played a full 16-game season since 2013, whether that's due to a lengthy injury and concussion history or suspensions, and will turn 29 this year. Once a force on the field, Burfict has become more of a liability and never seems to learn from any of his mistakes.  Despite the fact that he still has two years left on the four-year, $42.43 million contract he signed in 2017, we would actually be surprised if Burfict was still wearing a Bengals uniform by the start of training camp.
