Dallas Cowboys cornerback Byron Jones could open training camp on the active/PUP list according to Clarence Hill of the Fort Worth Star-Telegram.

Jones is expected to miss all of the offseason program after undergoing hip surgery that was termed a "cleanup procedure".  Barring setbacks, he should be ready for action well before Week 1.  Projecting recovery from hip injuries can be iffy, however, as the hip joint is maybe the most important for a cornerback considering all of the backpedaling and flipping of the hips.

Originally a first-round pick out of Connecticut in 2015, the 26-year-old Jones was  Pro Football Focus' No. 3 cover corner out of 123 qualifiers last season. He broke up nine passes and has done tremendous in his move from safety to the outside. Jones has one year left on his rookie deal at a $6.26 million salary.
