The New England Patriots have hosted Duke quarterback Daniel Jones and West Virginia quarterback Will Grier this week as they continued to put together their 2019 draft plan according to Ben Volin of the Boston Globe.

Of course the Pats still have a pretty good QB in Tom Brady, who has outlasted ever backup he has ever had in his storied career, but no one outlasts Father time-not even Brady.  He turns 42 years old in August and even the TB12 Method won't keep him on the field forever.   Now seems like as good a time as any to find Brady's successor, though most of the big-name signal-callers in this year's class including Kyler Murray, Dwayne Haskins and Drew Lock will be gone by the time New England picks at 32nd overall.

Both Jones and Grier are experienced starters who look NFL-ready.  Jones has seen his stock rise this spring and now seems likely to be drafted late in the first round.  Grier is probably a Day 2 pick put some draft experts see him as a starter at the NFL level and he has a strong arm to deal with the New England winters.   The Pats have also been linked to Josh Rosen, who the Cardinals figure to trade ahead of next week's draft.
