The Eagles have denied the Carolina Panthers’ request to interview Andrew Berry for their executive vice president of football operations opening, Mike Kaye of NJ Advance Media reports.  This according to NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport. The Eagles can block the move because the interview isn’t for a general manager job.

Berry is becoming a popular name on the general manager carousel.

The Panthers requested an interview with Berry, the Eagles’ vice president of football operations, on Monday, according to Mary Kay Cabot of the Cleveland Plain Dealer.

Berry previously worked for the Browns as the team’s vice president of player personnel from 2016-18.

With two teams interested in Berry, the Eagles will need a contingency plan for his replacement. As Rapoport reported, Berry is involved in all aspects of the front office’s dealings, from scouting to contract negotiations.
