Ravens have serious interest in former Dallas Cowboys starting defensive end Marcus Spears, Aaron Wilson of the Baltimore Sun reports. This according to league sources with knowledge of the situation.
No deal has been struck yet, but talks could progress into a contract eventually, sources say.
Spears is a 2005 first-round draft pick from LSU, selected 20th overall by the Cowboys. He was cut this year after signing a five-year, $19.2 million contract in 2011.
Spears, 30, has 226 career tackles and 10 sacks with three forced fumbles. Last season, he had 25 tackles and a sack in six starts.
