The Tampa Bay Buccaneers have signed CFL wide receiver Derel Walker to a two-year contract which includes $100,000 in guaranteed money according to Greg Auman of the Tampa Bay Times.
The hefty chunk of guaranteed money and $50,000 signing bonus seem to indicate that the Bucs had some competition for Walker's services. A former wideout for Texas A&M, the 25-year-old Walker recorded 198 catches for 2,699 yards and 16 touchdowns in two years with the Edmonton Eskimos. The Bucs wide receiver corps has some serious talent and depth issues beyond Mike Evans (also from A&M) so Walker should get the opportunity to compete right out of of the gate.
