The Saints are hosting free-agent quarterback Chase Daniel, a source familiar with the situation confirmed to Herbie Teope of the New Orleans Times-Picayune
ESPN's Adam Caplan reported the news first.
Daniel entered the league in 2009 out of Missouri as an undrafted free agent with Washington. He joined the Saints in September in 2009 and bounced back and forth between the practice squad and active roster that season before becoming Drew Brees' backup, a position he held from 2010-12.
Daniel signed a free-agent deal with the Kansas City Chiefs in 2013 and spent three seasons as Alex Smith's primary backup before signing a three-year with the Philadelphia Eagles in 2016.
The Eagles recently released Daniel shortly after the start of free agency. Don't forget to follow us on Twitter at http://twitter.com/theredzoneorg
