Free agent Josh McCown left town on Sunday without a deal after visiting the team over the weekend. It is unclear if the Jets offered him a contract, Brian Costello of the New York Post reports.

McCown, 37, was the first free-agent quarterback to visit the team. The Jets had interest in Mike Glennon, who signed with the Bears, and Brian Hoyer, who signed with the 49ers, at the beginning of free agency.

The Jets have shown some interest in former Bears quarterback Jay Cutler. The NFL Network reported last week that Cutler could visit the Jets, but that has not happened yet. Other options in free agency are Chase Daniel, Robert Griffin III and Colin Kaepernick, but the Jets have not shown any interest in any of them that we know of.

McCown came to New Jersey on Friday and spent the weekend meeting with the Jets. Bowles, general manager Mike Maccagnan and McCown had dinner together on Saturday night at Del Frisco’s steakhouse in Midtown.

McCown was with the Browns the past two years. He is 18-42 in his career as a starter and 2-20 over the last three years. McCown has also drawn interest from the Cowboys.
