The Browns have terminated the contract of offensive lineman Alvin Bailey and waived defensive backs Trae Elston and Tracy Howard, the team announced on Thursday, Dan Labbe of the Cleveland Plain Dealer
Bailey started five games for the Browns, playing guard after beginning training camp as one of the early favorites to win the starting right tackle job. He was signed by the Browns last March after three seasons in Seattle. He started Super Bowl XLVIII.
Bailey was arrested last September during a traffic stop in North Royalton and was cited for OVI during a traffic stop. Browns head coach Hue Jackson benched him the following game for all but a handful of special teams plays against Washington following his arrest. He was suspended two games by the NFL after pleading no contest to operating a vehicle impaired and being found guilty Nov. 3 in North Royalton Mayor's Court.
Elston was inactive for two games and spent the final two weeks of the season on the Browns' practice squad.
