The Bucs have signed first-round draft pick Joe Tryon to a four-year contract, Joey Knight of the Tampa Bay Times reports.

The $11.171 million deal includes a signing bonus of $5,484,540. The $660,000 base salary for 2021 will gradually increase to slightly more than $2.1 million by 2024.

A 6-foot-5, 262-pound outside linebacker, Tryon opted out of his final season at Washington, lowering his draft status and making him a relative bargain for the Bucs with the 32nd overall pick. He had a breakthrough redshirt sophomore season in 2019 with eight sacks and 12 tackles for loss.

Tryon underwent an arthroscopic procedure on his knee shortly after the draft and was unable to participate in most of the offseason field work, but did make it back in time for the team’s mandatory minicamp earlier this month.
