The Eagles placed linebacker Davion Taylor (knee) on injured reserve on Wednesday, as expected, Mike Kaye of NJ Advance Media reports. Taylor injured his knee in the win over the Saints on Sunday.

Sirianni said Monday that Taylor suffered a knee sprain, but the linebacker posted a picture from a medical bed on Tuesday, indicating that he had surgery.

Sirianni confirmed the surgery on Wednesday but stated that he didn’t know the exact diagnosis of the injury. He also said Taylor could return at some point this season, even after undergoing the procedure.

Taylor will be eligible to return from injured reserve in three weeks. However, he could need longer to recover.

With Taylor out for the foreseeable future, Alex Singleton will start opposite T.J. Edwards at linebacker. The Eagles also have Patrick Johnson, Shaun Bradley and Genard Avery at the position on the 53-man roster.
