49ers wide receiver Deebo Samuel showed up at minicamp.  Coach Kyle Shanahan painted a picture of a swell relationship, rather than one seemingly fractured amid Samuel’s April trade request, Cam Inman of Bayareanewsgroup reports. “It’s always been alright,” Shanahan said. “I know we go through the business part of the league, but I don’t think the relationship was ever too far away to not get it back to normal and we’re working on that.” Shanahan noted that contract-extension talks are ongoing and is hopeful for a deal before the season starts.

Quarterback Trey Lance said he’s spoken with Samuel “a ton” this offseason, and that his “vibe and energy” was welcome, especially for introductions to a slew of new wide receivers. Added Lance: “It’d be great to have (Samuel) out there (practicing) but I understand the situation.”

Shanahan said is not counting on Samuel to practice this week, saying it’s “not smart for the team or for him” because he hasn’t been around this offseason. Samuel was not among the three players made available to the media — a trio of whom all spoke highly of Samuel. “Him, Trent and Bosa, when they’re in the building, it’s a little bit different,” Lance added.

Shanahan is not concerned that the 49ers haven’t opened extension talks with defensive end Nick Bosa, whose fifth-year option has been exercised for 2023. “That’s how both sides are going at it now. I’m not too concerned with it,” Shanahan said. “I fully expect Nick Bosa being here for a very long time.”

Looking as lean and healthy as even, Bosa participated in strictly defensive line drills, after bypassing the previous seven weeks of voluntary workouts while training in his native Florida. Unlike a year ago, he didn’t require a support sleeve over his rebuilt knee. “Nick always takes care of himself as good as any athlete as I’ve been around,” Shanahan added. “He has a good Florida tan, his quads are still huge and he’s ready to play football whenever it’s time to go.”
