The New England Patriots have signed No.29-overall pick offensive guard Cole Strange to a four-year contract according to Adam Caplan of SiriusXM NFL Radio.
Like all first-rounders, Strange's deal is guaranteed and includes a fifth-year option. A small-school prospect who turns 24 in July, Strange was a surprise pick in the first round. That said, he is a very impressive athlete and is reportedly looking like a "plug-and-play starter" at left guard, per ESPN's Mike Reiss. If he lives up to his draft capital, Strange should make life easier for second-year quarterback Mac Jones.
