New York Giants rookie edge rusher Kayvon Thibodeaux has a "tweaked hip" according to Dan Duggan of The Athletic.

Concerned observers have noted that Thibodeaux has spent the offseason in a red jersey working on the sideline with trainers and those concerns were not calmed by head coach Brian Daboll's refusal to comment on the issue.  The injury is considered “minor” and Thibodeaux is expected at the start of training camp.  Duggan adds, "The Giants were excessively cautious with injuries during the spring — have heard that a number of "red jersey" players had minor injuries. We'll find out at the start of camp which spring injuries were more serious."

The fifth overall choice in this year's draft had seven sacks in 10 games last season and finished his three seasons at Oregon with 19 sacks in 30 games. He also totaled 126 tackles, including 35.5 tackles for loss.  The Giants are counting on Thibodeaux to improved a pass rush that ranked 22nd in 2021.
