Philadelphia Eagles cornerback Darius Slay has been named the NFC's defensive player of the week.  Slay recorded a career-high five passes defensed along with his first two interceptions of the season in the Eagles’ Week 2 victory against Minnesota. He became the first player since 2019 (Pierre Desir) to record five passes defensed and two interceptions in a single game.

Kansas City Chiefs cornerback Jaylen Watson is the AFC defensive player of the week. Watson registered a 99-yard interception return for a touchdown in the fourth quarter of the Chiefs’ Week 2 win over the Los Angeles Chargers, the longest go-ahead fourth-quarter touchdown scored by a rookie in NFL history.
