The New England Patriots could have a linebacker reunion in the works, Nick O'Malley of Masslive reports.

On Tuesday, the team hosted linebacker Jamie Collins for a free agent workout, according to ESPN’s Field Yates. The 32-year-old linebacker remains a free agent after his contract expired at the end of the 2021 season.

Collins has had multiple stops in New England through his career. Collins originally landed in New England as a second-round pick in 2013. In 2016, Collins was traded to the Browns, where he stuck around (for a while) on a big-money extension. However, Collins was later cut in Cleveland in 2018n before returning to New England later that season.

In 2010, Collins signed a free agent deal with the Detroit Lions, but fell out of favor shortly after. He was cut in October of 2021 before heading to the Patriots for a third stint.

Collins has been quiet this offseason, with little news coming out around his status heading into the 2022 season. Now, it appears that he could be set for another run with New England. However, it remains to be seen what sort of role the team would have for him.
