The Detroit Lions announced on Saturday they are activating first-round pick Jameson Williams from the non-football injury list and edge rusher Romeo Okwara from the physically unable to perform list, Kyle Meinke of Mlive reports. Okwara’s brother, Juilan, is headed to injured reserve in a corresponding move.

Detroit has won three of its last four games to creep onto the periphery of the playoff race, and now help is officially on the way heading into Sunday’s game against the Jacksonville Jaguars.

Anticipation for Williams’ debut has been building since Detroit traded up to take the former Alabama star with the 12th overall pick in the draft. He had just blown out his ACL in the national championship game, but the Lions were still blown away by the speed, and what it could do in Ben Johnson’s offense. He was clocked at 23 mph last season with the Crimson Tide, faster than any ball-carrier in the NFL this season.

“He’s fast,” quarterback Jared Goff said. “He’s very fast. Very, very fast. Yeah.”
