Carolina Panthers outside linebacker Brian Burns said on Saturday that talks between his representatives and the Carolina Panthers about a contract extension are "on hold.''

Burns spoke with the media after Saturday's practice and was asked about the contract.

“I would probably say it’s on hold,” he said. “We haven’t really been in talks. ‘Cause I already told ’em once the season start, I’m all about ball. I can’t give 1000 percent on the field and to my teammates if I’m still worried about contract negotiations and whatnot. And I feel like I owe that to them—to be 100 percent, 1000 percent balled in at all times. Because at any point, something bad could happen.”
