Aaron Rodgers is nothing if not persistent.
He continues to insist he’ll be back this season from a torn Achilles he suffered two months ago, even as the former MVP will turn 40 on Dec. 2.
Fox’s Jay Glazer reported Sunday that Rodgers isn’t only planning a return, but he’s hopeful to return to team practice around his birthday as if this saga couldn’t continue to get any more theatrical, Bryan Fonseca of The New York Post reports.
Asked if Rodgers has a slight chance to return this season, the well-connected Glazer assured, “More than a slight chance.”
“[Rodgers] is actually gonna go back to the Jets this week and start training with them,” Glazer continued. “He actually sent the Jets video of him working out this week, it kind of blew their minds like ‘man, he’s a little bit further ahead than we thought. In Aaron Rodgers’ mind, he is telling the Jets, ‘I’d like to actually start practicing as early as December 2.”
Glazers also notes that Rodgers is “serious about playing” and is looking to return in “the middle of December” from the Achilles injury — which would be unprecedentedly quick.
