Joshua Dobbs almost led the Minnesota Vikings to a third consecutive victory Sunday night against the Denver Broncos, only to be denied by a Russell Wilson touchdown pass in the final minutes.

But Dobbs, who joined the Vikings in a trade from the Arizona Cardinals just three weeks ago, left a huge impression on Broncos head coach Sean Payton, Jack Browne of theScore reports.

"Considering what he's been through, where the year began ... with Cleveland and then it was Arizona, and what he's doing now," Payton said, according to Pro Football Talk's Michael David Smith. "There's so much that goes into playing that position, and to see the poise he's playing with is really remarkable. I haven't seen anything like it."

Despite consistently being under pressure from Denver's pass rush, Dobbs hit on 20 of 32 passes for 221 yards and one touchdown against one interception. He also rushed for 21 yards and a score.

Dobbs won NFC Offensive Player of the Week honors after stepping in for an injured Jaren Hall and leading Minnesota to a win over the Atlanta Falcons just five days after joining the team. He accounted for three touchdowns, including a passing score to cap off a 75-yard game-winning drive.

The 28-year-old guided the Vikings to a victory against the New Orleans Saints the following week, completing 67.6% of his passes and producing one passing score and one rushing score.
