The Kansas City Chiefs have franchise-tagged cornerback L'Jarius Sneed ahead of Tuesday's deadline, NFL.com reports.  The team officially announced the move on Monday.

With the two sides so far unable to come to agreement on a long-term deal, the Chiefs had previously given Sneed permission to seek a trade, NFL Network Insider Ian Rapoport reported Feb. 28. He added at the time that the tag could still be used, and indeed Kansas City elected to use the tag on the star cornerback.
