Most draft experts have the Washington Commanders taking LSU quarterback and Heisman Trophy winner Jayden Daniels withe No.2-overall pick in the upcoming draft but new Commanders GM Adam Peters is reportedly "really into" North Carolina QB Drake Maye according to Mike Sando of The Athletic.

Sando suggested the Commanders could take Maye with the second pick in the 2024 draft and have him sit behind former North Carolina teammate Sam Howell until Maye is ready to take on the starting role. However, five of the six NFL executives who spoke to Sando about the first round of the draft said Washington would take LSU QB Jayden Daniels with the second overall pick. If Peters is adamant about Maye as a future franchise quarterback, look for Washington’s new ownership to go with their new GM.
