There is optimism in Miami that second-year running back De'Von Achane will be able to suit up for Thursday night's divisional game against the Bills but he will work out for the coaches and training staff before the game to determine his eligibility according to Ian Rapoport of NFL.com.
The speedy tailback may be limited with the ankle injury even if he is in the lineup, but Achane doesn’t need many touches in order to make an impact because of those wheels. If he can’t go and with Raheem Mostert (chest) already ruled out, it could be a full helping of Jeff Wilson with Jaylen Wright mixing in for the Dolphins.
Rapoport also notes that Mosert's chest injury is not considered longterm and he will not be placed on injured reserve. The 32-year-old tailback was ruled out for Thursday night’s contest, but that appears to be just as much about the short turn around than the severity of the injury. It’s far from a guarantee, but it sounds like Mostert could be taking handoffs from Tua Tagovailoa in Week 3 against Seattle.
