The Pittsburgh Steelers not only suffered their first loss of the season on Sunday but also suffered a major injury to their offensive line according to Jeremy Fowler of ESPN.
Right offensive guard James Daniels tore his Achilles and is out for the season. The 27-year-old Daniels has started 36 games for Pittsburgh over the last three seasons. He exited Sunday’s eventual loss to the Colts after just six offensive snaps. Guard Spencer Anderson filled in for Daniels following his exit and will presumably takeover at right guard for the Steelers for the foreseeable future.
Daniels spent his first four seasons with the Chicago Bears.
Pittsburgh is likely to get its other starting guard, Isaac Seumalo, back soon from a pectoral injury. But Daniels’ injury is a significant loss.
