Matthew Stafford has two years left on his contract with the Los Angeles Rams and with his 37th birthday approaching, there will be talk this offseason about his future with the team – and in the NFL, in general, Cameron DaSilva of The Rams Wire reports..

There’s absolutely no question he can still play at a high level after throwing for 324 yards and two touchdowns with no interceptions in snowy conditions, and it doesn’t sound like he’s ready to hang up his cleats, but his future is still somewhat uncertain as it pertains to the Rams.

Stafford was asked for his thoughts on what the future holds shortly after Sunday’s loss, and while he didn’t want to say anything definitively, he does think he was playing well this year.

“It’s 30 minutes after the last game so I’ll take some time to think about it but I feel like I was playing some pretty good ball,” he said.

He was then asked if he has football left in him.

“Sure feels like it,” he said, grinning.

The Rams don’t have a succession plan at quarterback in case Stafford does retire, so they’re likely hoping he’ll be back for another year. However, adjustments made to his contract in the offseason make it easier for the two sides to go their separate ways.

It’s possible the Rams and Stafford will go back to the negotiating table this offseason in an attempt to get a new deal done, but nothing is certain.
