Mark Sanchez’s broadcasting career at FOX appears to be well and truly over following a telling move by the network.

The company has reportedly secured an agreement to bring in Drew Brees as a replacement for Sanchez amid his legal troubles, with the 13-time Pro Bowler to call games alongside play-by-play announcer Adam Amin.

Amin, of course, has been Sanchez’s partner in the booth at FOX, but they haven’t worked together since the latter was arrested in Indianapolis following a violent altercation with a truck driver that resulted in him being stabbed.

The former NFL quarterback was in the city to call a game between the Colts and the Raiders. However, he was unable to do so, having been hospitalized the night before.

Sanchez’s ordeal was made light of by comedian Benedict Polzzi, who wore a bloody Jets costume for Halloween. ‘Saturday Night Live’ also made fun of the 38-year-old in the wake of his arrest.

According to The Athletic’s Andrew Marchand, Brees will begin calling games for the network in Week 11 and will continue in the role for the rest of the season. While the details of his deal are unknown, he is expected to call games through next season, while it’s understood to be a multi-year agreement.

“Brees, 46, will begin his Fox career a week from Sunday, according to the sources. His exact game assignment is not known yet. He will work as an analyst the rest of the year and is signed up to call games through at least next season,” Marchand writes.

“The exact terms of the deal are not yet known, but it is expected to be for multiple years. Fox and Brees have agreed and a signed contract is expected soon,” he adds.

The network, which was criticized by fans over its televised statement on Sanchez, has not responded to requests for comment.

The former QB will begin trial on December 11.
