A Las Vegas Raiders fan is blaming quarterback Geno Smith for getting pulled over by a police officer in a video that has quickly gone viral.

The 2025 season has been a nightmare for the Raiders, who entered the season with much higher expectations after bringing in a new GM-coach tandem of John Spytek and Pete Carroll, Geno Smith and prized rookie running back Ashton Jeanty.

But Sunday’s ugly 24-10 home loss to the Cleveland Browns dropped the Raiders to 2-9 on the season. After the game, cameras caught a frustrated Smith flipping off some fans as he made his way into the locker room.

Last week, Geno Smith made headlines when he told reporters to “blame” him for the Raiders’ offensive struggles. Smith then added some lighthearted humor, per Michael David Smith of Pro Football Talk.

“If it don’t look right, blame it on me,” Smith told reporters. “That’s all you can do, blame it on me. If your kids mess up at school, blame it on me. Car break down on the way to work? Blame it on me.”

Well, one Raiders fan decided to literally follow Smith’s advice after getting pulled over by a police officer:

Hey, the fan was just following Smith’s advice!

Geno Smith Isn’t Entirely To Blame For Raiders’ Struggles

The tough reality in football is that if a team is winning, the credit goes to the quarterback. If a team is constantly losing, the blame goes to the quarterback.

But it’s unfair to fully blame Geno Smith for the Raiders’ shortcomings this season. Pete Carroll is supposed to be a defensive guru, yet the Raiders are allowing 25.2 points per game through 11 contests.

The offensive line is atrocious and giving Smith little time to throw. He was sacked 10 times in Sunday’s loss to the Browns, and the run-blocking issues have prevented Jeanty from meeting sky-high expectations as a rookie.

Smith will eventually get benched if his production doesn’t improve, but it’s foolish to think that the offense will get much better with a different quarterback.
