Shedeur Sanders had such a good NFL debut that even the President of the United States had to weigh in on it.

Sanders made his first NFL start in Week 12 against the Las Vegas Raiders. It gave the fifth-round rookie a good opportunity to bounce back from a lackluster Week 11 debut, where he was forced into the game due to Dillon Gabriel suffering from a concussion.

Sanders had never taken a first-team rep, something his mother, Pilar Sanders, called the team out about on social media. The Colorado product completed just 4 of 16 passes for 47 yards with an interception.

On Sunday, he was much better, and President Donald Trump was watching.

How did Sanders do in his starting debut?

Shedeur Sanders was 11-of-20 with 209 passing yards, a touchdown pass, and an interception. His most dynamic play was a 54-yard completion to Isaiah Bond that had Myles Garrett in shock on the sidelines.

He also threw a dump off to Dylan Sampson, who ran it for a 66-yard touchdown.

Shedeur Sanders led the Cleveland Browns to a 24-10 victory over the Las Vegas Raiders in his first career start on Sunday.

In his debut start, Shedeur Sanders threw for 209 yards with one touchdown and one interception, completing 11-of-20 passes.

President Donald Trump certainly loved it. He took to Truth Social and wrote, “Shedeur Sanders was GREAT. Wins first game, career start, as a pro (for Cleveland). Great genes. I told You So!”

This is not the first time that Trump has shown support for Shedeur. Months ago, Sanders expressed his gratitude to Trump after the president took to his Truth Social media platform to call out NFL teams for passing on him in the NFL Draft.

“What is wrong with NFL owners, are they STUPID?” Trump wrote on April 25. “Deion Sanders was a great college football player, and was even greater in the NFL. He’s also a very good coach, streetwise and smart!”

He continued, “Therefore, Shedeur, his quarterback son, has PHENOMENAL GENES, and is all set for Greatness. He should be ‘picked’ IMMEDIATELY by a team that wants to WIN. Good luck, Shedeur, and say hello to your wonderful father!”

Sanders made sure to express his gratitude, saying, “I was truly thankful for it,” he said, per the New York Post. “Including him, there were a lot of fans, a lot of people in barbershops, a lot of hairstylists.”

Sanders continued, “A lot of fans of me, my craft, and my family were there in support. I was thankful that I had that foundation.”
