NFL Legend Was Forced To Respond To Report That He Died On Thanksgiving

Buffalo Bills legend Steve Tasker moved quickly to shut down a false report that he had passed away.
Unfortunately, it’s too easy for misinformation, conspiracy theories and fake reports to spread quickly around the worldwide web. And so, some NFL fans naturally must have freaked out when they read a phony report on Facebook that Steve Tasker had passed away.
But the reality? Tasker is healthy and doing just fine at the age of 63, thank you very much.
On Thursday morning, a Buffalo Bills fan Facebook page called “Frozen Charge” posted a message stating that Steve Tasker had unexpectedly passed away. For starters, they got his age wrong and said Tasker died at 62.
Secondly, the graphic they posted said he was born in 1986 and died in 2025. Thankfully, Tasker took a few seconds to clear the air with this post on X/Twitter:

Just another reminder to always triple-check any major story you come across, such as this one. It was a needless, cruel and unnecessary prank by the Frozen Charge account.
Steve Tasker Was A Key Contributor To Bills Success In The 1990s

When you think of the Bills’ legends who led them to four straight Super Bowl appearances in the ’90s, Hall of Famers Jim Kelly, Bruce Smith, Andre Reed and Thurman Thomas immediately come to mind.
But Tasker, one of the NFL’s all-time great special teams players, was invaluable for Marv Levy’s squad as well. Tasker was named to seven Pro Bowls and earned five straight First-team All-Pro selections from 1991 to ’95.
Tasker also played wide receiver occassionally for the Bills, catching 49 passes for 760 yards and nine touchdowns.
