Ben Johnson gave the Chicago Bears fans two generous Thanksgiving weekend gifts: A statement victory over the Philadelphia Eagles and free hot dogs.

The Bears entered Black Friday’s road game in Philadelphia as a considerable underdog, but Ben Johnson had his team far more ready for action than Nick Sirianni did. Chicago emerged victorious 24-15 in a game that certainly wasn’t as “close” as the score indicated, thanks to a lights-out effort from the Bears’ ground game defense.

Kyle Monangai (130 rushing yards) and D’Andre Swift (125 rushing yards) led the way for a Chicago rushing offense that racked up 281 yards. The defense forced two takeaways and held Saquon Barkley to 56 rushing yards, too.

And thanks to Ben Johnson’s epic post-game locker room celebration, some lucky Bears fans will get free hot dogs on Tuesday.

The Wieners Circle, a popular hot dog stand in Chicago’s Lincoln Park neighborhood, put out the following poll back on Oct. 22:

With the “shirtless Ben Johnson” option winning the poll, the Bears’ faithful could only cross their fingers and hope for the improbable event to happen. Well, that very event happened in Chicago’s post-game locker room celebration:

After viewing the video, The Wieners Circle’s official X/Twitter account announced that they are, indeed, handing out free hot dogs on Tuesday.

Ben Johnson Boosts His Coach Of The Year Award Odds

Ben Johnson’s start as head coach of the Bears didn’t go so well. They lost their first two games in sloppy fashion, and the rookie head coach made headlines after having a testy exchange with CBS Sports reporter Aditi Kinkhabwala during their Week 4 game against the Las Vegas Raiders.

But Chicago has been red-hot since its ugly 0-2 start, going 9-1 ever since to put them in the driver’s seat for the NFC North division crown. The key has been a vastly improved offensive line, which has made life much easier for Caleb Williams in the pocket.

With Friday’s victory, the Bears have clinched their first winning season since 2018. Up next, they’ll try to also lock down their first division crown since 2018.
