The Indianapolis Colts will be sweating over the fitness of cornerback Sauce Gardner following his exit from Sunday’s game against the Houston Texans.
Gardner, a recent trade acquisition, suffered a non-contact injury during the Texans’ opening drive, lasting just two defensive snaps.
He limped off but couldn’t put any weight on his left leg while getting off the field and was examined in the blue tent before heading to the locker room. The Colts initially listed him as questionable, but he has since been ruled out.

Sauce Gardner joined the Colts via a trade with the New York Jets back in October. The deal resulted in the Jets receiving wide receiver AD Mitchell, as well as first-round picks for 2025 and 2026.

The No. 4 overall pick in 2022, Gardner was named Defensive Rookie of the Year that season and is a two-time All-Pro selection. It would be a massive loss for the Colts if he ends up missing time with the injury.
