The Minnesota Vikings have been caught trying to cover for star wide receiver Justin Jefferson after he refused to speak to the media yesterday.

The Vikings’ 2025 season hit a new low with a humiliating 26-0 shutout loss against the Seattle Seahawks at Lumen Field. In his first NFL start, third-string quarterback Max Brosmer threw four interceptions and inexplicably connected just twice with Justin Jefferson…for a mere four yards.

After the game, multiple Vikings reporters claimed that Jefferson wasn’t there to speak to the media in the locker room. The Athletic’s Alec Lewis said this is the first time this happened with the All-Pro wideout since he joined the outlet in 2022.

It’s not uncommon for players to decline speaking to the media after a frustrating game. What’s bizarre here is that the Vikings attempted to deceive fans through their social media activity.

On their YouTube page, the Vikings shared a video of Justin Jefferson’s postgame interview from last week’s loss to the Green Bay Packers. The Vikings titled it as an interview after the Seahawks game, but a pair of brilliant internet detectives caught them red-handed.

“It appears the team attempted to cover this up by posting an old interview,” wrote ML Football.

Nice try, Vikings’ admin team.

Justin Jefferson’s Frustrations Are Totally Justified

Jefferson was visibly frustrated throughout the Vikings’ Week 11 home loss to the Chicago Bears, a game where quarterback J.J. McCarthy missed several throws with horrific inaccuracy.

Justin Jefferson had a lights-out season with Sam Darnold as his quarterback last year, catching 103 passes for 1,533 yards and 10 touchdowns. After eclipsing the 1,000-yard mark in each of his first five seasons, Jefferson is now in danger of finishing below that feat for the first time in his career (799 yards in 12 games).

It’s hard to blame Jefferson for being openly frustrated with Minnesota’s struggles. He’s supposed to be the best wide receiver on the planet, but the production can’t reflect that when his quarterbacks are failing to find him.
