NFL wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr. is getting destroyed on social media following some claims about money that people who have never played professional football are having a hard time understanding.

Beckham, who spent last season with the Miami Dolphins, hasn’t played in 2025. He revealed earlier this year that he had accepted a six-game suspension from the NFL and should now be eligible to play again, with 13 weeks of football gone by. However, he is yet to find a team.

The wideout was recently linked to the Denver Broncos, which would give him a chance to compete for a contender, much like he did with the Los Angeles Rams a few seasons ago.

A three-time Pro Bowler, Beckham has made millions since entering the league as a first-round pick in 2014.

He has turned some people off after suggesting that $100 million over five years is not a lot of money while being interviewed by Ryan Clark on ‘The Pivot Podcast’.

Check him out in the video below:

“Certified loser,” someone commented.

“Must be tough. My heart truly goes out to him. I can’t even imagine trying to get by on such a low wage,” another wrote, sarcastically.

“If you can’t grow $12M over five years—that says more about you than the market,” said another user.

“Sorry this man is complaining about how he has “sacrificed his whole life” – at the ripe old age of 33 – and how difficult it is to make that money last while earning only $12,000,000 *after taxes* per year! Pucking fathetic!” another comment read.

“Bro really said $100M is ‘starter pack’ money. If that can’t build generational wealth, I’m officially cooked,” someone else shared.

“$100M sounds huge, but when you factor taxes, agent fees, injuries, short careers, and no guaranteed longevity… yeah, most NFL players aren’t setting up dynasties. The window is tiny,” one fan said in his defense.

It’s worth noting that Beckham did not claim to be struggling financially.

At the beginning of the clip, he suggested he’s set for life. Still, he doesn’t seem to believe that $20 million a year is enough to live on, which some people reckon is absurd.
