Taylor Swift fans dug up a rare photo this week, and it instantly brought them back to the night that started Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce’s relationship. The picture shows Patrick Mahomes and his wife Brittany in the stands at Arrowhead Stadium during the Eras Tour in July 2023. That was the same night Kelce tried to meet Swift with a friendship bracelet.

Fans quickly tied the photo to the beginning of Swift and Kelce’s love story. Kelce later said on his New Heights podcast that he made a bracelet with his phone number on it, but never got the chance to give it to her because she doesn’t talk before shows.

“So I was a little butt-hurt I didn’t get to hand her one of the bracelets I made for her,” he said.

The picture, which Brittany originally posted with the caption “Just being Swifties,” was saved and shared again by a fan.

Swifties filled social media with theories. Many said Brittany unknowingly brought Taylor and Travis together by pulling her husband and his teammates into the crowd that night.

“I feel like Brit doesn’t get enough credit for being a key piece of this whole thing. What if she didn’t have tickets to Eras!?” one fan wrote.

Another added, “I think about this often, Brittany Mahomes set out to go see Taylor Swift, her husband brought his best friend and because of that, now she gets to call Taylor a close friend. The ultimate win.”

The selfie showed Brittany in a blush dress that matched Swift’s Lover era. Patrick wore a white T-shirt and a white hat. They leaned in for the quick snap as the show played behind them.

Kelce didn’t meet Swift that night, but someone reached out later. The two started dating soon after, and the Chiefs tight end proposed after two and a half years together. Their relationship also led to a friendship between Brittany and Swift. The two often sat together during Chiefs games and later spent time together off the field.

The Mahomes and Kelce families grew closer as the couple’s relationship deepened. Brittany was happy for them after the engagement, and then Swift joined her for a Nashville girls’ weekend for Brittany’s 30th birthday.

Now fans are treating the old photo like a small but sweet clue from the night that set everything so perfectly.
