Dak Prescott lost his cool on Thursday night. The Dallas Cowboys quarterback yelled at his coaches after they chose to kick a field goal instead of trying for a first down during an important first-half drive. The Cowboys were down 17-6, and Prescott wanted to keep the offense on the field.
The drive was going well until several penalties pushed Dallas into a 2nd-and-25. Prescott threw a 10-yard pass to CeeDee Lamb, although he exited the game with an injury, then hit Jake Ferguson for 11 more on 3rd-and-15. That left a 4th-and-4 at Detroit’s 37-yard line. Prescott wanted to go for it, but offensive coordinator Brian Schottenheimer told the field-goal unit to come in. TV cameras showed Prescott shouting toward the sideline after the call.
Brandon Aubrey made the field goal, but Detroit hit one of their own before halftime. The Lions led 20-9 at the break and controlled most of the game. Dallas tried to rally in the second half and scored on three straight drives to cut the lead to 30-27, but they couldn’t complete the comeback.
Cowboys Feel The Pressure Along With Prescott

Prescott kept throwing and put up big numbers. He completed 31 passes for 376 yards and actually outthrew Jared Goff. But Goff played mistake-free football, while Prescott threw two interceptions, and Detroit turned both into touchdowns. The Lions scored on two straight drives late in the game and closed out a 44-30 win.

Prescott’s sideline outburst was easy to understand. He felt the offense had momentum and could convert the fourth down. When the coaches chose to kick instead, he lost his patience and let them know. It was one tense moment on a night full of them, moreover, Prescott also showed his anger towards George Pickens. Dallas fought hard in the second half, but early errors and late defensive breakdowns cost them.
The loss dropped the Cowboys to 6-6-1 and put their playoff hopes in trouble. They face the Minnesota Vikings next Sunday with a lot on the line. Prescott knows it, and so do the coaches. His frustration now hangs over the team as they try to regroup for the final stretch of the season.
